Wooo

Hi everyone!

First time in a while Ive gotten to a real computer!! We are in Verona right now, at this awesome little Bed and Breakfast near the center of town. I think last time I left off we were still in Paris. Unfortunately I got really sick the last few days in Paris and that put a damper on things. We ended up seeing the Notre Dame on our last day and then just getting on the train to get to Lucerne. I can’t remember if I mentioned that we already saw the Louvre and Mona Lisa, and the Catacombes among other things. So much stuff to keep track of! But anyhow, looong train ride to Lucerne, 5 hours through Mannheim, Germany and then down into Basel.

Switzerland is so amazing! It feels the most like home so far because of all the mountains and green grass and nice people. Like I mentioned before though, I was sick so we were limited on what we could do. We wanted to visit Zurich but there was just no way I was feeling well enough to. So we hung around Lucerne and found this awesome little Irish pub called Grace Kellys where we made friends with the bar tender(ess? lol) who was a total sweetie. One thing to note while youre in Switzerland - everything is SUPER expensive. $30 for Burger King? You bet! They use Swiss Francs, which are almost one to one with Canadian Dollar so I was constantly thinking, “wow I would never pay that much back home.” Luckily the pub we found had cheap food but realllly expensive booze. Best to buy your own beforehand at the supermarket!

Coolest part in Lucerne was definitely renting a paddleboat and hanging out on Lake Lucerne. We caught a lucky morning when it was about 25 degrees and sunny out and relaxed on the lake. Sooo beautiful! The funniest thing was that literally two hours later we got caught in this HUUUUGE hailstorm. Like, hail about 1cm around and just pouring everywhere. Then it started raining super hard. This was all completely out of nowhere. People were huddled in stores and under umbrellas wondering what the hell was going on. Then, after about 15 minutes of that, it just stopped. I have a video for anyone interested!

This morning we took the train out of Lucerne and into Italy. Wow. The scenery is stunning, I honestly couldnt have ever imagined something so beautiful and awe-inspiring. Giant mountains with greeeen green trees and gorgeous waterfalls, and then you see these cute little towns just out of no where and you think “what is the point of having giant cities when you can live in nature like that?” Totally weird to think about.

So now were just hanging out in our little Bed and Breakfast in Verona, taking a small break from the road and relaxing. I never thought that travelling could be stressful, but it is. The uncertainty of what youre going to do next and the spontinaity does seem awesome but at certain moments it feels like a bit like a burden. Its weird going from country to country, hearing people speak a different language every day and being kind of stuck in yesterday. I keep wanting to say to people here in Italy, “Entschuldiging” or “Danke schone!” and then I realize no one here speaks German.

I didnt realize I would have so much to say but now that Ive started its kind of just pouring out! Having only Dawson to really talk to (while he is super awesome and did take care of me while I was sick) feels a bit isolated even though we’re in this huge world at our finger tips. It’s kind of a relief being able to get all this out!

Anyhow, I guess to end off: a list of things I miss in Canada. Go enjoy these things for me, fellow readers!

1. Tim Hortons Bacon BELT and English Toffee

2. Canadian money (I found a 5 dollar bill in my bag, it was awesome)

3. Delicious cold water found only in the Fraser Valley (All they have here is mineral water and fizzy water. The tap water isnt too great)

4. My bed (Although I hope no one will go lay in it or something)

5. All my friends and people back home! Lub you guysss

Well, I think thats all for now. Time to get to bed early so I can explore Verona tomorrow! Thanks for reading!

On our second to last night in Paris. We’re in the south western area of Bolougne and it’s quiet but beautiful yet still close to everything by metro! We’ve seen so many things in only a few days, it’s really incredible. The only bad part is that I got pretty sick last night and now I have a cold which will hopefully go away soon. I really wish I could upload some pictures for everyone to see but I can’t get to a real computer yet. Maybe I’ll get the chance to in lucerne which is our next stop on Saturday! Tomorrow we’re gonna see Notre Dame and hang around our end of the Rives de Seine. I gotta get to bed - sooo tired!

Were in Arlon now staying with my aunt. It’s definitely a whole different world out here. Right now were staying in a 106 year old house which is pretty awesome. My cousin is a cutie and she’s got a little bunny named Beatles :) Today we are going to visit Luxembourg which is a super tiny country with like 500,000 people! Anywho, no pictures yet and I’m not too sure when I can manage to upload some. The plane ride was pretty lame and from the time we left Vancouver until we got to Brussels we had at least 20 hours of travel time including waiting. Well, my cousin is making crepe so I’m gonna go om nom nom!! Bye everyone :)

Hi guys, we’re at the airport! It’s so weird, doesn’t even feel real yet. Dawson is delusional and thinks we will get upgraded to first class. Lol. Would be nice! In other news, I’m already missing everyone! <3 you guys. Hopefully my next post will have pictures. We’re not in Brussels till 6:15pm their time. I’m definitely going to be confused with the time change :P I’m not too sure what else to write about cause nothing significant has happened. Except I got searched by customs… Okay okay I didn’t lol :D I’m gonna play some Pokemon Platinum! Hope all is well in good old Abbotsford. Till next time!
